Custom Brass Stampings, Brass Ferrules & Brass Expansion CouplingsBrass is one of the most popular alloys used in metal stamping, generally defined as an alloy comprised of copper and zinc. By varying the proportions of copper and zinc, the properties of brass can be changed allowing for a wide range of attributes. Winzeler Stamping Company manufactures brass metal stampings and provides products across a variety of industries, specializing in expansion couplings and brass ferrules for the Lawn & Garden industry. Most grades of brass are easily drawn, blanked, pierced, or formed; and brass has properties which make it a good material for stamping applications.
Due to its low friction characteristic, brass is ideal for components commonly used in gears, bearings, ammunition, plumbing fixtures and valves, and electrical applications. Depending on the grade of material used, brass will vary in the degree of electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, surface smoothness, and its response to chemicals, heat and plating. In the softened or annealed condition brasses are ductile and strong but when hardened by cold working their strength increases markedly.
